MTV: NO LONGER "MUSIC" TELEVISION

Music videos on many networks have been in decline since the mid-90's, and now MTV is owning up to its present show schedule, dropping the tag-line "Music Television" under the logo.

When was the last time you saw a video on the network? Even the morning wake-up videos around  6 a.m. have become scarce.

Though videos are what made MTV famous back in 1981, their current list of shows, like "Jersey Shore," "16 and Pregnant," and "The Real World,"only feature music in the backgroud. Music televison has become reality television.

BONNAROO ANNOUNCES LINEUP

Annual multi-day music festival Bonnaroo takes place midsummer in Manchester, Tennessee. They always announce their line-up, but this year they had the artists announce separately to their fans instead of publishing a mass list, like usual.

As of this morning, there were a number of large and small acts that announced they will be playing. Among them are Weezer, Jay-Z, OK Go, and the Flaming lips doing a special set of the entire "Dark Side of the Moon" album by Pink Floyd.

Tickets went on sale today, beginning at noon, and the cheaper priced group goes fast. I went to this festival a few years ago and it was fun, and interesting, to say the least.

For full line-up updates and ticket purchase, visit Bonnaroo's site HERE.

KeKe Wyatt is making up for lost time. Her third album is set to drop on February 23, 2010. The beautiful talented R&B songstress had some issues with records labels and personal issues causing her to shade herself from the limelight. The spotlight is now shining on "Who Knew?"

FUNNY MAN'S NEW WEBSITE

Everyone knows Jim Carrey from his slew of funny, and sometimes not so funny, movies. Overall, I would say I'm a fan of his work.

Now he has a new website that has peaked a lot of internet interest and buzz, not so much for its content, but for its unique design.

To give you an idea, here is a screenshot of the homepage.

To see the full page, check his site out HERE. Definitely something new and fun.

A record number of viewers tuned in, making this year's game between the Colts and the Saints the "most watched television event" in history. The game beat the season finale of M.A.S.H., adjusting the ratio of persons who own television sets.

In case you missed it, enjoy some highlights from the game.

MUSIC MONDAYS: WITH SPEAK WILLIAMS

Once again it is Monday, back to school and back to work for many of us and many other things that we like to call the Monday Blahs. But there is at least one good thing about Monday...Music Monday (or for you twitter heads #MM). Bringing you some the best music to be found on a Monday is of course one of BLAKstar's favorite lyricist and artist Speak Williams. I must say I am feeling the freestyle over the Lupe beat.. *NICE*

NEW MOVIE: "ONDINE" STARRING COLIN FARRELL

According to IMDb: The story of an Irish fisherman who discovers a woman in his fishing net who he believes to be a mermaid.

Why did this kinda of remind me of "Splash" with Tom Hanks?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FACEBOOK

Facebook, the web's most popular social networking site, turns 6 today. CEO Mark Zuckerberg clebrates with the approximately 350 million uses, double from last years 150 million.

It is crazy to think that many people are on facebook, but if you really stop and think, who do you know that doesn't have an account? I only know one person, even including all my grandparents and younger cousins. One person that I can't "facebook" stalk, "creep" on, or whatever you call it.

Facebooking has become a verb, and a part of daily life.
